Everything's Coming to a Close! (virtual artist talk)

It's hard to believe it's already July. Several projects I've been working on for the last while have either completed or are nearing their imminent end.

The group exhibition for the New Suns Worldbuilding Lab at Artengine in Ottawa, ON has closed. I didn't get a chance to go, but from the photos it looks like a great success! Lots of people got to see all of the incredible work made by our group.

Medalta Artist Residency

My year at Medalta is almost over. I'm using the last few weeks of my residency to build crates/very safe boxes for my very fragile objects, make work for consignment spaces, and review my experiences during the last year (also I have so much cleaning to do).

I'm also running a few glaze tests, firing a final salt and soda with a group of artists, and packing up my life (again). I'm staying in Medicine Hat after the residency for the foreseeable future. I'll be setting up a home studio at the end of the summer so I can continue making work for sale.

frogsong is on display at The Yuill Family Gallery at Medalta until June 12th, 2025. Closing along with it is Fancy Pronk by Etty Anderson and The Watchers by Stefanie Smith. It's the last week to see all three of these exhibitions before they get packed up and put away (until they're shown again).

Also, for all you Medicine Hat local folks, we each have works for sale in the shows! If you want to take a piece of these exhibitions home with you (and save us from building a crate) then head to Medalta!

For the second time "it looked like your BioSuit" is on display (for the first time in the Prairies!). If you'd like to take a look at this worldbuilding project for yourself, head over to the Estevan Art Gallery & Museum between now and August 22, 2025.

See you later!
